Muskrat

The Muskrat, a rodent that enjoys an aquatic environment, is very common on the Rideau Canal. They have a characteristic hairless tail that they often keep elevated while in the water. They can be distinquished from a beaver by their smaller size and round (as opposed to flat) tail.
