The funeral of the late Mrs. John L. French (nee Esther Ward) was heldon Monday afternoon at St. Peter's Church, where a large number offriends, neighbors and relatives assembled to pay their last respectsto an old and dear friend. Among the relatives from a distance wereMr. C. A. French, Sherbrooke, son of the deceased, and Mr. Chas.Pennoyer, of Montreal, and Mr. Arthur Pennoyer, of Eastman, grandsons.
Rev. I. A. R. McDonald conducted the service and gave a short address.The remains were then conveyed to the Cookshire cemetery forinterment. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers fromrelatives and friends.
