| From a distance this heron looked rather odd (okay - close-up it still looks odd) and it took me a few seconds to figure out what it was doing. My (non-educated) guess is that it is either drying out its wings, or just sunning itself. Either way, the position of the wings made it photogenic in a strange sort of way. Unfortunately a motorboat came by at that moment (I was in a kayak) and the heron took flight before I could get photos from a better angle. |
