| Sunrise on December 5 revealed a layer of new ice on the outer part of the bay and fog rising from the main lake as the cold air drew the heat out of the water. The main lake froze over three days later. The snow covered ice in the foreground had frozen a few days previously. It is only in December that sunrise occurs late enough that I might actually be out of bed to see it. On a day such a this, it was certainly a rewarding experience (the photo barely does it justice). |
