| The busiest time on the skateway in on weekends during Winterlude, Ottawa's annual winter festival. At over 7 km in length, the Rideau Canal in Ottawa becomes the world's longest maintained skating rink, so people have room to spread out. This shot shows the first few metres of the skateway in downtown Ottawa. Canada's Parliament buildings form a majestic backdrop. Winterlude is Ottawa's winter festival, spanning the first three weekends of February. |
