Hogs Back - Locks 11 and 12

Three locks in flight provide 24.9 feet (7.6 m) of lift. The stone arch dam at Long Island does not have the same build quality as the Great Stone Arch Dam at Jones Falls, but has stood the test of time. The same cannot be said for the weir at Long Island. It had to be moved and rebuilt a couple of times - the later reconstruction changing the geography of Long Island by blocking the west channel of the Rideau River and using it as part of the weir channel.
