Do you ever wonder where little herons come from. They are born in nests sitting on top of dead trees in the middle of a pond -- otherwise known as a Heron Rookery. In this case, the photo on the left shows three nests (look very closely). The photo on the right shows a mother heron, on high alert, with three (very large) chicks. |
