| An early sign of spring is when the ice on the lakes becomes granulated with the warm spring sunshine. Another effect is that anything dark coloured, such as this oak leaf, preferentially melts into the ice. Soon the sun will melt this last vestige of fall through the ice and then eventually melt the ice itself. Spring will be sprung. |
