| A natural hazard for those paddling close to shore is the occasional (very rare) wasps' nest. The only potential danger issue is if you happen to bump into it or whap it with your paddle. If you are quietly drifting by in a canoe or kayak, then the wasps don't pay any attention. Of note, wasps eat mosquitoes so that's another good reason to leave them alone. |
