Photo Tour Video: Edmunds Lockstation and Kilmarnock Lockstation by: Ken W. Watson, 2012 |
This short (5 minute) photo video will show you some of the sights at Edmunds and Kilmarnock Lockstations. Featured at Edmunds are the large verdant lawns, crabs, two types of gate opening mechanisms and the stone arch overflow dam. At Kilmarnock are the timber swing bridge and the lockmaster's house. Included is a short trip up Irish Creek past the Village of Japser, several types of birds, beavers and a couple of snapping turtles (or more correctly, a snapping turtle couple). Click on the Play Arrow button in the middle of the video to start it. This is part of a south to north series of the Rideau Canal, each video focussing on a single lockstation and the waterway between it and the next lockstation. |
