When the winter weather warms up, masked bandits can suddenly appear. In this case a raccoon, out from hibernation, about to raid my compost bin. Perhaps it felt safe because of the snowstorm, not aware that it was my dog that alerted me to the raccoon's presence. Although I'm not a fan of raccoons (particularly since they now have the potential to carry rabies), I did this one a favour and left the dog in the house.
Ditto by the way to my previous photo regarding photo quality, I was shooting handheld in a snow storm. It's the best I could do given the circumstances.
