Your location: Rideau Canal Home Page > Rideau Corridor Accommodations
There are many forms of accommodations along the Rideau for both the boater and non-boater. These include the Locks, Marinas, Campgrounds, Cottages, Inns, B &Bs, Houseboats, and Cruises.
Please note that most of the listings are in geographic order, starting in the south (Kingston) and heading north (Ottawa). In addition, for Kingston and Ottawa, which offer a wide range of accommodations, I have provided links to other websites with various listings. You will also find details concerning accommodations in Kingston and Ottawa in the tourist literature.
The Locks
Camping is allowed at 22 or 26 lockstations. Camping is not allowed at Ottawa, Hogs Back, Old Slys and the Smiths Falls Combined lockstations. The lockstations offer clean washrooms, picnic tables and barbecue grills. You don't need a big boat to stay overnight at a lock, you are free to pitch a tent on the well manicured lawns. A few of the lockstations offer oTENTiks (a canvas covered A-frame cabin). Lockstations with oTENTiks also have showers. For more information on camping at a Rideau lockstation visit the Camping at a Lockstation Page. You can also view the details of individual locks by visiting the Lockstation Section.
Marinas
Most marinas along the Rideau offer transient boat dockage. Many also have power and pumpouts. In addition to fuel, most offer water, ice, rest rooms and marine supplies. Some also have showers, laundromats and food. For a full listing of marinas along the Rideau, visit the Marinas Page

Private Cottage Rentals
I don't maintain any listings of private cottages for rent, however you can find a good selection by viewing the Rideau Lakes Cottages list, the Cottages Unlimited List and the airbnb list.
Houseboats
If you don't have a boat and want to try some mobile accommodations, a houseboat vacation might just be for you. For information on houseboat rentals visit the Boat Rentals page.
Cruises
If you don't feel like driving (piloting) and you want someone else to do all the "work", then perhaps a cruise is for you. For information on Rideau cruises visit the Boat Rentals page.
